All staff took part in anaphylaxis training on Tuesday on our INSET day as well as our annual safeguarding training. We are committed wholeheartedly to keeping your children safe when you entrust them to us.

From September, new statutory requirements
have been introduced to strengthen allergy safety in schools across England.

To help us keep all children safe and reduce
the risk of accidental exposure to allergens; we have to sadly say that sweets, cakes or other food treats are no longer able to be brought into school from home to share with other children.

Children are still able to come to school in their own clothes for their birthday - but these must be suitable for school activities.

Please also encourage and remind your child not to swap any food with their friends inside school.
If your child has an allergy and has a packed
lunch, please make sure their lunchbox is
clearly labelled with their name.

It has been a great first week back at school, and we have loved welcoming everyone back. The children have been busy exploring their individuality and what makes them unique as well as revisiting the school routines . 🦇 Bat Walk at Towneley Park - This Friday 🦇

Looking for something a little different this Friday. Why not come along for a short stroll, discovering the bats of Towneley!

Meet at Offshoots Community Garden before heading out with our Volunteer Ranger. Using bat detectors, we'll listen out for bat calls and see what species we can spot as dusk falls.

✨ A great opportunity to learn more about these amazing nocturnal creatures. 👣 Suitable for all ages 🦇

A few days ago, the DfE published The Back-to-School Reset Guide — practical advice from psychologist Dr Martha Deiros Collado to help parents support children as they return to school.

It covers things like:

🎒 Building independence through small choices
💬 Talking about worries without making predictions
👋 Making those tricky goodbyes easier
❤️ Helping children manage anxiety about the new school year
🧘 Giving them time to unwind after school
