Old School Community Centre Solar Panel Project progress report

On Monday 20th July 2026 the Burham Old School Community Centre Solar Panel Project was completed with the installation of the inverter and battery in the boiler room. All associated wiring has been installed correctly and out of view. Over the weekend of 25th and 26th July this system was monitored and appeared to be functioning correctly. The scaffolding has been removed, and the operation of the Old School Community Centre is back to normal.

The Burham Old School Community Centre Management Committee will now pay the final installation invoice and then should receive the handover documentation from South East Solar, who carried out the installation.

The Project is funded by Burham Old School Community Centre Management Committee and supported by a £10,000 grant from the FCC Communities Foundation and the permission of Burham Parish Council.

David Young, Trustee member of the Burham Old School Community Centre Management Committee Charity.

The Project is funded by Burham Old School Community Centre Management Committee and supported by a £10,000 grant from the FCC Communities Foundation and the permission of Burham Parish Council.

Further progress will be reported as the project proceeds.

Burham Old School Management Committee is pleased to announce that their proposed Solar Panel Scheme has been awarded a £10,000 grant towards the scheme from FCC Communities Foundation. Hopefully, the work will commence in early August and be completed within a few weeks.
This scheme will help reduce the running costs of Burham Old School Community Centre enabling the Management Committee to keep hiring costs reasonable to the Community.

Notice for Burham Village Hall Car Park Users

Over the weekend 30th & 31st May 2026, City Fibre will be installing Fibre Cable across the car park towards the Parish Office.

Initially a trench will be dug along the path leading up to the Village Hall.

Then they will dig a trench across the entrance road and round to the bottom corner of the car park.

The trench will then continue along the bottom boundary of the car park up to the Parish Office.

Therefore, there will be disruption to the access to the car park.

When digging the trench across the access road, the contractor will always leave half of the road open.

However, care must be taken when entering and leaving the car park.
