Delighted to hand over this excellent book, produced in our twin town, Schmallenberg, to Dr Stephen Nicholls today. Dr Nicholls is an expert on German-Jewish relations and a retired translator.
The book is about the Stumbling Stones, brass plates that fit over cobblestones outside houses in Germany where Jewish people once lived but were mistreated, deprived of their livelihoods and property, deported to camps and murdered by the N**i regime. The stones usually show name, date of birth and date of ex*****on.
A big thank you to Jürgen Meyer, in Schmallenberg, who was instrumental in getting the stumbling stones installed there & who sent this book over for Stephen.

I'm missing something, here: why would the bill still allow £100,000 donations to political parties from UK-based donors? Why not cap it at £10,000? Or even, as our Green peer, Nathalie Bennett has proposed, £1,000?
Why are we still going to allow influence-buying? Why would we allow a handful of rich men to dictate the policies of a UK political party, not just paying for all their leaflets and postal costs and adverts but also dictating the content of those leaflets? Why is anyone ok with this?

MADE IN BRIGHTON → MADE IN BURGESS HILL?

This is what we’re fighting to stop.

L3Harris makes weapons-release equipment in Brighton for the F-35, systems that enable aircraft to carry and release bombs and missiles. L3Harris itself says every F-35 carries its FRCS (Field Repairable Component System) equipment, while Campaign Against Arms Trade identifies Brighton-made L3Harris munitions-release mechanisms in the Israeli F-35 supply chain.

Israel has used F-35s to bomb Gaza. We will not stand by and watch that weapons manufacturing simply move up the road to Burgess Hill.

Not in Brighton. Not in Burgess Hill. Not Anywhere.

We need a ban on appearing in a mask in public in this country.

It already exists in Germany: the 'Vermummungsverbot'. The German law bans masks during demonstrations and when you are driving a lorry (even burkas are banned when driving). It doesn't apply for religious outdoor events or pilgrimages & does not apply to Carnival, which is a big part of German culture. Similar laws apply in Austria & Switzerland. The penalty is one year in prison.

They could do with this law in the USA too, to stop ICE wearing masks.
