A fantastic day for our learners supporting the Royal Marines Families Day at the Commando Training Centre!

Our learners took on a range of responsibilities, acting as marshals and managing parking, hosting a fantastic stand and running a press-up competition. They all represented Bicton College brilliantly, and, of course, they made sure to enjoy themselves too, getting stuck into the rides and activities!

A brilliant opportunity for our learners to gain valuable experience, build confidence and be part of such a great event. RMA

Bicton College Deputy Principal, Dougie Wright, recently presented Major Richard Moore, Commanding Officer of 847 Naval Air Squadron, with a framed photograph commemorating the unforgettable visit of the Squadron's Wildcat helicopter to Bicton College and its Military & Protective Services Academy.

What makes this presentation even more special is where the partnership began. Dougie and Richard first met nine months ago during an early morning workout at their local gym. From that first meeting, a friendship developed, built on shared values, mutual respect and a passion for creating opportunities for young people.

Working quietly behind the scenes, they turned an idea into reality, culminating in an inspirational visit from 847 NAS that gave Bicton College learners and staff a unique insight into Commando Aviation and the Royal Navy.

The framed photograph was presented as a token of appreciation for the Squadron's support, professionalism and commitment to inspiring the next generation.

Thank you to Major Richard Moore and everyone at 847 Naval Air Squadron for helping create an experience our learners will remember for many years to come.
