Apologies to all our customers but due to short staffing the library has had to close this morning Wednesday 16th September.

You can put all your returns through our letterbox and they will be checked in as usual for today's date or if you prefer you can come and see us when we are next open. Please don't worry there will be no fines for books that you couldn't return or renew today.

We will return to our normal working hours tomorrow Thursday 17th September.

We are so sorry that we had to c;lose unexpectedly yesterday. If you returned your books through the letterbox they willl be backdated. There will be no fines for books that you couldn't return/renew on Monday so please don't worry.

We will be back to normal for the rest of the week. :-)

Aileen wrote to Queen Camilla during the DCC library consultation earlier this year. Aileen is one of our much valued shelving volunteers and she is also on the Friends of Budleigh Library committee. Aileen wrote to the Queen expressing her feelings about the importance of libraries and the staff who work in those libraries.

Aileen received a wonderful letter from Queen Camilla which has since been framed. Today the great hanging the letter on the wall ceremony took place. Come and read the letter next time you are in. It really is rather lovely. Thank you Aileen :-)

Thank you to everyone who came along to Lego Club last Saturday and enjoyed a brilliant building session using our huge collection of Lego bricks!

This month's challenge was to choose a Lego figure from our collection and build a scene around it to show something you had fun doing over the summer. We had some great builds from jelly fish being rescued at a beach and happy times spent in a tree house.

All our builds are on display until next month's Lego Club if you want to come along to the library to see them.

Next month's Lego Club will be on Saturday October 3rd. Lego Club runs on the first Saturday of every month and everyone is welcome. Just come along to join in from 11am to 12 noon! See you then!

There’s high demand for our 10 most wanted titles, and many eager customers are waiting to borrow them. We’ve purchased as many copies as our budget allows, but if you’re able to help, we’d be truly grateful.

If you have a pristine copy, you’ve finished reading - whether it’s one you bought yourself or received as a gift - you can donate it at any library in Devon or Torbay. We’ll add it to our collection to help reduce the waiting list.

It's Lego Club tomorrow Saturday 5th September and everyone is welcome! Come along to the library to join in the building fun from 11am to 12 noon.

This month we have lots of Lego mini figures waiting for you! Pick a Lego mini figure to represent you [ we have lots of different figures, maybe you want to be batman or spiderman for your build! ] and build a set around them to show an activity you have been a part of over the summer!

We are sure you have been doing lots of fun things during our sunny summertime and we can't wait to see your builds!

The seafront was a hive of activity on Bank Holiday Monday, when the Budleigh Lions held their Summer Fayre. There were stalls aplenty and music too. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by the Friends of Budleigh Library book stall, and bought a book or three! Our thanks also to everyone who donated books which filled several tables.
The Friends raised the magnificent sum of £335.00 😄
All monies raised by the Friends of Budleigh Library helps enhance the services we provide here. We are incredibly lucky to have such a very supportive and generous group of people on our side.
