Last Thursday I met up with Inspector Mat Helm and his team from Devon and Cornwall Police, to discuss how we can tackle the vehicle noise and anti-social behaviour issues we have been having at Lime Kiln car park. I also invited Councillor Geoff Jung and David Whelan from EDDC, who deals with emergency planning, community safety and anti-social behaviour.

Residents have written to me about speeding along the B3178 from Colaton Raleigh to Budleigh, and also West Hill Rd, Budleigh Salterton - which I have witnessed first hand. Inspector Helm was most helpful and has put me in touch with Vision Zero - a collaborative road safety community project, to look at how they can support us in our Ward.

The discussions we had were productive, and I’m following up with both the Police and EDDC to see if we can implement some actions/changes to tackle both problems. I will be reporting back to our Town and Parish Councils, and will keep you posted with more details as they emerge.

In the meantime, it is CRITICAL that residents REPORT incidents to the police, as it builds a picture of what is happening in our area, and the police need to see evidence so that they can respond with action. If you do not have access to online reporting, ask a friend or family member to help you.

Enjoy your summer and stay safe everyone.

We’re delighted that Budleigh Community Youth Project – “Nutritious and Delicious” (Ref: 139967) has been selected for the Tesco Stronger Starts scheme – and now we need your help!

From 28th April to the end of July, every time you shop in selected Tesco stores, you’ll receive a blue token – please drop it into our slot to support providing a hot, nutritious meal for young people at our youth club, helping create a safe space where they can connect, build skills and thrive.

You can vote in Exmouth Superstore, Budleigh Salterton Express, and Exmouth Churchill Road and Rolle Street Express stores. It’s one token per shop, but every single one makes a difference – so please support us whenever you can and spread the word to family and friends.

Thank you, and go get those blue tokens for Budleigh!
