As a consequence of the Covid-19 virus, the Returning Officer has taken the decision to suspend scheduled polls due to take place in Cornwall between now and 7 May 2020.

This includes the Parish Council by-election in the Stratton Ward of Bude Town Council, due to be held on Thursday, 19 March 2020.

New national guidance issued for Returning Officers on the evening of 18 March confirmed that it would be both reasonable and consistent with the national position for a Returning Officer to suspend any poll scheduled within this period, including those due to take place imminently.

The elections will take place on a new date to be announced.

This decision has been taken with due regard to ensure fair participation in our democracy and the protection of the public and elections staff during this time.

I feel like I have done all I possibly could of done towards being elected for the Stratton ward tomorrow night , no matter what happens tomorrow I know I can hold my head up and be proud of all my achievements in life thank you to everyone of you who has supported me so far and has believed in me and helped me get this far in my journey . As some of the people of Stratton May have noticed I have personally not been knocking on doors I have just been popping a leaflet though the letter box . The reason behind this is while we are in unsettled times with Coronavirus I have decided to not knock as I do not know who is behind that door I am knocking on , it could be someone who is in the high risk category and I want to help keep everyone safe . We have been invited to the high street celebrations tomorrow pm in Truro hosted by clean Cornwall to give a small talk how their kind donation towards equipment for brag has helped make a impact within the local community

Residents of the Stratton ward this was 2 years ago after cleaning it multiple times and speaking to some people about seagull bags , I’m pleased to say I think this was a small victory for your town ! there has since been a huge improvement that I continue to monitor
