It’s Test It Tuesday! Making sure you have working smoke & heat alarms could save your life. Test them weekly to make sure if fire does break out everyone in your home has time to get out safely.

For many people affected by dementia, the emotional impact can feel invisible. Behind everyday faces may be anxiety, loneliness, stress, grief, burnout or uncertainty about the future.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we want to remind people that they do not have to carry those feelings alone💜

If you are affected by dementia and need support, our Freephone Dementia Helpline is here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

1 in 6 people in the UK face the challenges of Deafness and hearing loss. This we want to help raise awareness of some best communication practice:

• Face the person while you are speaking, don’t turn away

• Repeat yourself if necessary

• Never say ‘It doesn’t matter’

• If the person doesn’t understand you, don’t give up!

• Write it down or draw a picture

• Speak one at a time, don’t talk over each other

• Keep your mouth visible

• Smile and relax

• Don’t speak too quickly or too slowly
