Brownhills Ormiston Academy

Brownhills Ormiston Academy Brownhills Ormiston Academy sits on the Staffordshire-Walsall border. Our values of ready, respect and safe underpin everything we do.

Our students leave us with the skills, attributes and academic qualifications to enjoy a life of choice and opportunity. We are exceptionally proud of our school and our community. At Brownhills, we have a clear and unwavering mission: we know that every student who walks through our doors has only one chance at their education. One single, precious opportunity to build the foundations to enjoy a

life filled with choice and opportunity. We understand that the five years at secondary school are not just a phase, but a defining chapter in a child’s story, one that will shape their futures in ways that you cannot imagine yet. Our commitment is simple but powerful. We will work tirelessly to create an environment where every student feels safe, valued, and inspired to push beyond their limits. There are no limits for a Brownhills student who chooses to work hard. Our three values are the drivers for the work of our school: ready, respect and safe. They are embedded in our culture of learning and the behaviours of our academy community. Our broad and ambitious curriculum enables students to acquire and retain the knowledge and skills required to meet their full academic potential and to be prepared for post-16 pathways. We offer a wide range of subjects that will give our students rich experiences at school. We are a school that is very well known for our sports, music and drama. Beyond our ambitious curriculum, our students have access to a range of wider opportunities, competitions, events, trips, and clubs. Our students must and will leave us with skills, attributes and academic qualifications to enable them to enjoy a life of choice and opportunity. Visitors often comment on the warm and friendly atmosphere in the school and the buzz of activity that greets them. Prospective students and their families are welcome to contact the academy to arrange a visit during or after the school day. Our Headteacher, Mr Doodson, is very clear with his message to our community: you have one chance at your education, and we all have to work together to make it count.

❤️ THE ARMED MAN AT LICHFIELD CATHEDRAL - AN OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE FROM TEAM BROWNHILLS AND A GROUP OF EXCEPTIONAL MUSICIANS

💙 We are bursting with pride. Our young musicians performed beautifully last night in an extraordinary concert at Lichfield Cathedral. They performed with musicians from The Arts Centre Telford and Jackfield Band in a 117-piece ensemble, including a performance of The Armed Man, by Karl Jenkins; a challenging and exhilarating choral work.

❤️ They sounded beautiful, performed with maturity, confidence and class and represented our school and town perfectly. The music they performed was exceptionally challenging and after months of work, they sang complex music in English, Latin, French and even a fictional language, in 4 parts (sometimes splitting into 6 parts!)

💙 We also want to give a massive shoutout to our fantastic brass teacher, Mr C Stevens, who led Jackfield Band and conducted The Armed Man brilliantly. We are so lucky to have such a talented team of peripatetic teachers from Walsall Music Education Service who are all genuinely excellent musicians. Thank you so much, Mr Stevens for everything you do for our community and leading us last night.

❤️ Finally, we were delighted to have seen so many family members, friends, members of staff, former staff, local teachers, governors, our local MP Wendy Morton MP and so many other from our community. Thank you for sharing a really special evening with us.

💙 Please enjoy some photos from the event - videos to come soon!
