Help us to shape the future of Shropshire.

Do you live in Shropshire, run a business in the county, or have an interest in the area? If so, we want your ideas to help shape our new Local Plan.

The Plan will decide things like:

🏚️ Where new homes might be built.
🚙 Where new jobs and roads could go.
🌳 How to protect important places like parks, nature areas, and historic sites.

✔️ And, it will make sure development happens in the right places.

❗ Right now, the plan is at an early stage. We’re not choosing places to build yet. Instead, we just want to hear what you think is important and what issues Shropshire faces.

You can share your thoughts until 15 July on our website - https://orlo.uk/W6dkt - or at one of the drop-in sessions we’re holding in different towns. You can just turn up, ask questions, and talk to our experts.

What you say now will help shape the plan later on, when more detailed ideas are created.

ℹ️ Upcoming drop-in sessions are at:

Shifnal Library; 12 June, 10am to 12noon
Albrighton Library: 16 June, 10am to 12noon
Broseley Library: 16 June, 2pm to 4pm
Shrewsbury Guildhall: 17 June, 2pm to 4pm
Bishop’s Castle Library: 18 June, 10am to 12noon
Highley Library: 26 June, 10am to 12 noon

Edit: Sessions have already been held in Oswestry, Market Drayton, Whitchurch and Ludlow.

📖 Volunteer Opportunity – Book of Remembrance ✒️

We’re looking for a caring and creative volunteer to help us maintain our Book of Remembrance, which is proudly displayed in the library.

If you have a steady hand and a flair for calligraphy, we’d love to hear from you. The role involves adding around three memorial entries every other month, helping us honour loved ones.

It’s a small commitment that makes a meaningful difference to families in our community.

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, please get in touch with us at the library.

Thank you for helping us keep this special tradition alive.
