Statement from the Bromsgrove District Council Environment Officer who carried out the recent work at Lingfield Park:-

Lingfield Park Habitat Works – Summary (May 2026)

Following an ecological assessment undertaken by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust in 2021, works have been carried out at Lingfield Park to implement a phased habitat management programme. This includes the creation of a path and future selective, rotational scrub management.

The works have primarily involved the creation of a narrow path through grassland and low bramble, with the majority of existing vegetation retained. The approach is designed to support long-term biodiversity improvement, particularly through the enhancement of lowland meadow and transitional edge habitats, which are identified as priorities within the Worcestershire Local Nature Recovery Strategy.

These changes aim to create a more diverse habitat structure, supporting a wider range of wildlife while also improving access to the site. Further habitat management works are planned for later in the year as part of an ongoing programme.
