🚨 Upcoming works on the Network Rail service from Brockenhurst to Lymington Pier. 🚨

During this closure, buses will replace some South Western Railway services between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier.

Two buses will operate per hour on 26 October to 2 November from Brockenhurst to Lymington Pier calling at Lymington Town.

On Sunday 3 November two buses per hour will run from Brockenhurst to Lymington Town and shuttle service Lymington Town to Lymington Pier as required.

"Fresh from Faroe Islands" - the debris, not our New Forest Ambassador. 😄

🚮 Thank you to all our New Forest Ambassadors who turned out on Hurst Spit on another windy day to help with .

🏆 9x full bin bags of rubbish were collected by New Forest District Council

🦅 Also great to be accompanied by Bird Aware Solent ranger Julie who pointed out the brent geese who arrive on our shores from 3000 miles away for a milder winter. They only have a limited time to feed, which is why it's important to give them space and minimum disturbance.

Holloways aka sunken lanes, are historical highways, used originally as pilgrim paths & drover roads. ⠀
⠀
They are 'natural' in so far they are a product of human and livestock compression of the soft bedrock underneath, assisted by the formation of temporary rivers after heavy rain.⠀
⠀
You can quickly see why some holloways have a connection with the otherworldly, with tales of disappearances, apparitions and portals to other realms. 🎃⠀
