This local guy is doing a huge amount of work in protecting wildlife in Thanet and fighting against the destruction of Minster marshes currently being planned by UK Power Networks. Check out his regular and informative blogs. Thanks Tim.

Recently, my wife Jan and I attended the Green Party's election campaign launch at Ellington Park in Ramsgate. The event included speeches from the national deputy leader and Broadstairs KCC candidate, Councillor Mike Garner. This occasion prompted me to consider why I support Mike and the green party. Initially, I contacted Mike regarding Saint Peters Court Green Space, which led to the establishment of the page “St Peters Court Green Spaces Group,” aimed at sharing local wildlife information. We also organised successful “Bat Watch Evenings” during the warmer months. With Mike's assistance, I believe this green space will receive protection now and in the future.

My support and endorsement of Mike and the Green Party is also based on several policy factors, including, Environmental issues, Promotion of a Fairer Society, Economics: Green Economy and Political Policies: Electoral Reform

Mike has great experience as a Town and District Councillor, working on many local issues including environmental protection. As a former town councillor myself, I value Mike's efforts and believe he will serve our community extremely well as our Kent County Councillor.

This is NOT Saint Peters Court but Lindenthorpe Road where there is a current planning application to build five houses within this wooded area obviously with the loss of trees, shrubs and vegetation. The Arboricultural assessment notes 20 tree quality as either Low or Unsuitable...while a Biodiversity Report manages to estimate a 17.51% net gain once the site has been completed..nature does worry whether a tree is of low quality or unsuitable...this is a worrying trend in making the numbers work...
