39th Signal Regiment (The Skinners) is an Army Reserve Regiment based across Southern England. Anywhere where duty calls. Full training given. Paid for your time.

We are an Army Reserve Signal Regiment, forming part of 1st (United Kingdom) Signal Brigade, providing the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) with Information and Communication Support. Our part time Combat Signallers work with British Army Regular and Reserve Army units as part of the 70,000 international troops making up NATO’s largest combat formation, the ARRC. We also support the wider Armed

Forces with a High Readiness Reserve for UK Operations, standing by to assist with any crisis or emergency in the UK. This has involved our soldiers helping communities deal with flooding and supporting the Police and Blue Light services - keeping us all safe. We provide this information and communications support in our mobile detachments, at important headquarters, or deployed in the field on foot when required. The vast majority of our soldiers are part time Army Reservists living and working in the community with you most days. You can join us as a part time soldier in

An incredible achievement by LCpl Thackray of 39 Signal Regiment.

After supporting the charitable delivery of an ambulance with Ukrainian Action, LCpl Thackray embarked on an epic 1,500-mile cycle home across five countries. Battling torrential rain, challenging terrain and relentless headwinds, he covered between 80 and 150 miles a day over two weeks.

Planned around locations significant to British military history, the journey was a tribute to generations of servicemen and women, as well as a test of endurance, resilience and determination.

Congratulations, on a truly remarkable achievement. 🚴‍♂️👏

💪 Supporting British Functional Fitness

Last weekend, 39 Signal Regiment was proud to support the British Functional Fitness European Championships at the University of Bath.

Our personnel were on hand behind the scenes, supporting the event and helping competitors perform at their best across an action-packed weekend of functional fitness. 🇬🇧

A successful week at Blandford Camp for 39 Signal Regiment, with our latest cohort of eight Army Reserve soldiers successfully qualifying on their Royal Signals Initial Trade Training.

Throughout the course, the students developed their technical knowledge of antennas and propagation (A&P), while learning how to employ Royal Signals communication systems to best effect. They demonstrated the practical skills and competence required of Royal Signals Reserve signallers with teamwork and determination.

Well done to the entire cohort—we look forward to seeing you put your new skills into practice with the regiment. ⚪️🔵

🎖️ Celebrating excellence across 39 Signal Regiment.

Last Tuesday, the Commander of 1 Signal Brigade visited 94 Signal Squadron to observe training and meet our Army Reservists. The visit concluded with a number of well-deserved awards recognising dedication, commitment and outstanding service, including the Volunteer Reserves Service Medal (VRSM), King’s Coronation Medal, Brigade Commander’s Coins, Commanding Officer’s Coins and a 3* Commendation.

Congratulations to everyone recognised—your commitment to the Army Reserve is something to be proud of.

🏐 Sport. Adventure. Opportunity.

Earlier this year, officers from 39 Signal Regiment were selected to represent the Corps Netball Team at the Ultimate Tour Netball Tournament in La Manga, Spain.

After a training camp in Stafford and a fixture against a local team, they travelled overseas to compete, develop their skills and proudly represent the Army Reserve.

🏙️ Great training starts close to home.

This weekend, soldiers from 39 Signal Regiment made the most of the facilities at our Army Reserve Centres, conducting an urban operations dry training exercise. From practising movement and communication outside to clearing the building as a team, every serial helped build confidence, teamwork and the skills needed for military operations.

You don’t have to travel far to challenge yourself.
