Great Western Air Ambulance Charity Funded by charitable donations GWAAC serves Bristol, Gloucestershire, Bath and beyond. We need to raise £4 million a year to keep flying.

We receive no day to day funding from the Government or the National Lottery. That means we rely entirely on the generosity of you, the people we serve. We are one of few air ambulances to operate to the Gold Standard Critical Care model. Put simply we are a flying accident and emergency department flying the most highly trained doctors and paramedics to the scene.

GWAAC has once again been supported by At The Gym in Nailsea. They offered free tickets to our staff for their latest HYROX simulation – a high-intensity fitness challenge combining running and functional exercises.

Our relay team was led by trainee Specialist Paramedic James, and they smashed it, coming 1st! 💪

Keeping physically fit is important for our crew. Their shifts can be physically demanding, from carrying heavy bags to the scene to walking to patients when they land in fields. And you won’t realise how often the lifts are broken in some of the tower blocks they attend!

We're landing in Nailsea! 🛍️

Our latest GWAAC shop will open in town centre on Tuesday 20 October at 09:30. 🚁

The shop will help us raise vital funds for our lifesaving work and we're looking forward to becoming part of the local community. 💚💙
