Are you part of a community group or voluntary organisation? Are you involved in a project that has
made a difference to your community?
Bristol City Council are inviting resident-led groups and voluntary organisations to apply to organise an
event about community action during Bristol Community Festival next Spring.
Grants to organise an event of up to £3,000 are available for groups working in priority areas and with
city-wide equalities communities, but you don’t need a grant to be able to organise an event. The
festival will be about celebrating those that bring people together, inspire people to get involved in their
community and connect those who don’t know where to start.
Events could be things like:
• Activity taster sessions
• Film screenings
• Art exhibitions
• Information sharing about a project

All waste and recycling collections scheduled to take place on Friday 18 Feb 2022 are postponed. This is due to severe red weather warnings for Bristol and advice to avoid all non-essential travel.

Friday’s collections will now take place on Monday 21 Feb 2022, with all other collections scheduled for next week (Mon 21 – Fri 25), now happening one day later.

Tue 22 – Wed 23
Wed 23 – Thur 24
Thur 24 – Fri 25
Fri 25 – Sat 26

Please help keep the city clean and tidy by storing your waste and recycling in a secure place.

The Recycling Centres will also be closed for the day, and street cleaning work will be paused during the storm period.

Garden waste collections scheduled for Friday 18 will be postponed to Saturday 19. Garden waste collections next week will take place on the usual day.

This is to ensure the safety of our crews, and everyone in the city.

Officers from Bristol City Council and Bristol Waste deal with lots of illegally fly-tipped items in order to bring the sparkle back to Bristol. This sofa, illegally dumped in a lane in St Andrews, resulted in a £400 fine for the perpetrator.
