In partnership with Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire ICB, Sirona care & health, and Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP), we’re holding a Service of Thanksgiving for nurses and midwives on Monday 11 May to celebrate International Day of the Midwife and International Nurses Day.

This special civic service provides a moment to recognise and reflect on the incredible dedication, care and compassion of nurses and midwives across the region. All are welcome to attend, including current and retired nurses and midwives.

We're so excited that Katharine will be a Lamp Es**rt at this year's Florence Nightingale Commemorative Service! It's a huge honour for her to be chosen, and a testament to the hard work, dedication and care she's demonstrated throughout her career.

A planned simulation of a mains electrical failure will take place inside the Brunel building at Southmead Hospital on Thursday 23 April.
The building will lose power for approximately 60 seconds at 6am. We are not expecting any disruption to essential services during this time and have robust back-up plans in place to manage the situation.

We are aware that several flags have been installed on our Southmead site by members of the public without permission.

At NBT we only display flags on our flag poles on recognised occasions and in line with our established protocol.

We recognise that flags and symbols can carry different meanings for different people, and unexpected displays like this can feel unsettling.

Our staff are in the process of removing the flags. It is disappointing that our staff are having to deal with the additional workload and cost of dealing with this situation.

Yesterday we hosted a Celebration of Robotics in Healthcare at Southmead Hospital.
We welcomed members of the public, patients, colleagues and a class from Filton Avenue Primary School to see live demonstrations and learn more about robotic-assisted surgery at Southmead Hospital.
The event recognised our milestone of more than 10,000 robotic-assisted procedures and celebrated the collaboration between surgical teams, industry partners and patients driving forward minimally invasive care.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make it a brilliant showcase of innovation at North Bristol NHS Trust.
