When our engineers visit a care home to carry out routine fire alarm maintenance, they're not just testing devices and checking system performance.

Before entering bedrooms or private areas, our engineers work closely with care home staff to ensure residents are informed and comfortable. We understand that alarm testing, access requirements, and maintenance activities can sometimes be unsettling.

Join our growing team and help keep businesses compliant, protected, and prepared. As a Portable Fire Extinguisher Engineer, you'll be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, testing, and replacement of portable fire extinguishers.

We're looking for someone with hands-on extinguisher servicing experience, a strong understanding of relevant British Standards and BAFE requirements, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

The role involves travel across the M4/M5 corridor, working independently while building trusted relationships with customers.

Saïd Business School, University of Oxford | Project Completion

We're proud to have played a part in the transformation of the former power station into the new home of Saïd Business School.

As part of this prestigious retrofit project, Sovereign delivered the design, supply, installation and commissioning of:

✅ Access Control – Gallagher Security & ASSA ABLOY Group
✅ Fire Alarm System – Hochiki Europe
✅ Panic Button System - CQR
✅ Emergency Voice Communication – Vox Ignis

As an additional feature of the project, bespoke posts were made for the access control and door entry systems, providing a solution tailored to the building's unique requirements.

As part of the integrated security solution, the intruder alarm system was connected to the Gallagher access control platform and CCTV system, enabling streamlined monitoring, event management and enhanced site security.

The impressive four-storey building includes:
• Classrooms
• Student accommodation
• Study spaces
• Gym facilities
• Dining areas
• Social and bar spaces

It's always rewarding to work on education projects, supporting spaces designed for learning, collaboration and future success.
