You might be wondering if the Friends of Horfield Library are having a Christmas event this year. Sadly, the answer is no. As we were unable to find anyone to take over the positions of Chair and Secretary, the group is dormant.

I know many people have expressed their sadness at this. There isn't time to organise anything for Christmas, but it would still be possible to bring the group back to life next year. Think about it. Is this something you could do?

At our AGM last week, we voted to wind up the group. It was time to pass it on to new people, but try as we might, we just couldn't find anyone to continue the work we've done. Thanks to everyone who has supported us in the past. We've had some great times.

If you feel you'd like to be involved in continuing what we started, the door is still open. It doesn't have to be a big undertaking. Email us at [email protected] if you'd like to talk about it.

Our AGM is now 12 days away. There are two possibilities.
1 a new chair and a new secretary come forward. The new FoHL committee meets at least twice in the coming year (or more if they wish) and put on events as they choose - in the past we've had three some years, five in others.
2 we can't find a new chair and secretary, so we have to close the group.
Which is it to be?
