Winscombe Library
Following North Somerset Council’s decision to cease funding Winscombe Library from April 2027, North Somerset Library Service and Winscombe & Sandford Parish Council are continuing discussions regarding the future provision of library services in the village.
The Parish Council has been reviewing its legal position and the potential financial implications. A survey of the library building is also being arranged to inform the Council’s assessment. The Parish Council aims to bring forward a recommendation by the end of September.
If a community option isn’t viable, North Somerset Council will develop a plan to deliver library services in alternative ways to ensure statutory duties are met.

Apologies, diagram now attached - not sure if it shows well on screen. Access to all residents west of closure will be from the village; access to the four residencies directly affected will be maintained; access to Eastermead will be maintained from Towerhead for residents only.

The Parish Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Lynne Stephens as the new Parish Chair. We look forward to her leadership and the positive direction she will bring.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Archie Forbes for his exceptional service during his seven‑year tenure as Chair and his long-standing commitment as a Councillor. His contribution has been invaluable. We are grateful that Archie will continue to lend his experience as Vice Chair, alongside Jack Taviner, who also assumes the role of Vice Chair.

We thank them all for their dedication to the Parish and their continued service to our community.
