Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, made an order the effect of which will be to close,
temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are
included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which
may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by
Bristol Water for a stop tap removal. This order will become operative on the 22nd September 2026 for
a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole
of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

PUBLIC NOTICE
Bridgwater Road, Winscombe, NORTH SOMERSET
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) 2026
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council, under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended will, by virtue of this Notice, for a period of up to five days commencing on the 14th September 2026 will
close, temporarily to vehicles the length of Bridgwater Road (from the junction of Fountain Lane and Sidcot Lane to
the properity named Elmside). However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as
necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 nights in duration, between 20:00 and 05:00.
The above restriction is necessary because of essential works undertaken by National Grid for a pole replacement.

NORTH SOMERSET COUNCIL
LADYMEAD LANE, CHURCHILL, NORTH SOMERSET
(TEMPORARY ONE WAY TRAFFIC) 2026

Notice is hereby given that the North Somerset Council, under section 14(1) and in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended will, by virtue of this Notice, for a period of up to twenty-one days commencing on the 7th September 2026, shall temporarily impose one way traffic movement the southern end of Ladymead Lane, Churchill. The one way will allow vehicles to proceed in a north bound direction only. The lengths of affected roads are specified in the schedule to this notice. This order is required because of the need to implement measures for public safety during the works on the A38 Bristol Road, Churchill. The one way restriction will be in place at all times.
