🌼🌼🌼Community Wildflower Planting Day🌼🌼🌼
Pop along to help us plant up the Vale Park wildflower bank and create more habitat for important pollinators in Portslade.
Date: Sunday 19th of October
Time: 10am - 2pm
Meeting point: Meet in the North East corner of Vale Park, where the new chalk bank is being constructed.
Whether you've got time to plant 1 flower or 100 we'd love to see you. Every little helps. All tools provided, no experience necessary, but please dress for the weather.

This project is part of Greening The Cities, which is run by The Living Coast Unesco Biosphere as part of the wider partnership project led by National Trust, The South Downs and supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

***Work Dates Extended***

The chalk grassland “B-bank” (butterfly & bee bank) In Wish Park was created in around a decade ago. The bank provides habitat for some of the unusual species of wildflowers and pollinating insects found in the rare chalk grassland we find up on the South Downs. We’re undertaking some work to renovate the bank and help return it to its full potential.

Works will now take place between 28 August and 12 September.

During this time, the work area will be fenced off (see yellow area on map below). This will include closing a small section of path around the northern end of the bank (see red line on map below).

Thank you so much to all our wonderful volunteers who attended our Thank You Picnic up at Waterhall. You all do so much for our green spaces across the City it was lovely to get together and celebrate the work you do and everything that's been achieved.
