Can you help medical students learn about autism?

Every year Time for Autism involve about 100 local families in their programme for medical students.

Often around half the families from the previous year stay with the programme for another year, so they are currently looking for approximately 50 new families who would like to find out more about hosting a pair of medical students for 3 home visits over the next academic year to help them learn about autism.

To be able to participate in the programme, families must live within 60-90 minutes of Brighton by car or public transport, and they must have at least one child or young person with a formal diagnosis of autism (NHS or private) up to roughly the age of 18 (this can be flexible).

To find out more about the programme, you can email: [email protected] or visit: https://www.bsms.ac.uk/research/clinical-neuroscience/cds/time-for-autism/time-for-autism.aspx

We all know that it is safest not to take drugs at all. ru-ok? does not condone drug use but works in a non-judgmental way with those who are already using or thinking about using.
We also work with young people around safer s*x.
We aim to help people understand the risks they might be exposed to, and what they can do to reduce those risks.
We work with young people, families, friends, carers, professionals to help get safe messages out there to help keep our young people safer.

Tourette’s is a neurological condition, not a mental health condition. However, many people living with Tourette syndrome can experience challenges with their mental health, often due to the impact of symptoms, stigma, misunderstandings, and co-occurring conditions.

That’s why awareness, early support, and access to the right help are so important.

By increasing understanding of Tourette syndrome, we can help create a world where people feel supported, heard, and able to access the help they need when they need it.
