It’s Supported Housing Week! 🏠

BHT Sussex provides high-quality supported housing for people facing homelessness, mental ill health and addiction. Our mental health care homes in Hove have recently been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.

Supported housing is a lifeline for thousands of people who need help to live independently. But after years of funding cuts, many supported housing services have already been lost, with many more now facing closure while demand continues to rise.

That’s why we’re taking part in the National Housing Federation’s Supported Housing Week, calling for a secure future for supported housing.

It's World Mental Health Day and this year's theme is lived experience - listening to and valuing the voice of those with lived experience of mental health.

To celebrate World Mental Health Day, Eammon, one of our Pathfinder West Sussex peer mentors, shares how he is now using his own experience of mental health difficulties to help other people and finding that rewarding.

Today Saturday 10 October marks both and .

Homelessness is inextricably linked with mental health; mental ill health is often a cause of homelessness, whilst being homeless can exacerbate mental health problems.

At our First Base day centre, people experiencing homelessness can access help to improve their mental health, whilst working with our expert staff to get off the streets and into accommodation.

To help us continue our work in homelessness and mental health, please consider donating to BHT Sussex at the link below.

This Saturday is 🏠

Last year we prevented 1,829 cases of homelessness across all our services. 8,812 visits were made to First Base, our day centre providing practical support including showers, clean clothes and hot food to people who find themselves sleeping rough.

Nobody should be homeless, and with your help we can reach more people with essential advice and support.
