Sussex Army Cadet Force

On Saturday evening the 10th of October 2026, some of the cadets and staff of number 25 detachment Heathfield A Coy took to the streets of the bonfire celebrations as they are recognised to be a huge part of the town itself.

The evening started for the cadets with doughnuts and lots of chatting and laughing, whilst the main body containing lots of bonfire societies walked from the top of Heathfield down through the town centre and past the fire station, on the return walk back through the town centre the cadets and staff from #25 were going to take up their place at the Head of the parade and march as slowly as possible back through Heathfield, with lots of cheers from the crowds including former cadets and families from all over Sussex.

The cadets did an amazing job at the head of the celebration parade, at the mini roundabout they formed a line and walked with the rest of the societies towards the recreated Cenotaph, which the Cadets and Staff will pull back down towards the mini roundabout for an explanation as to why these particular celebrations are extremely important for the town of Heathfield, the cadets also observed a minutes silence followed by a bugle, quite an emotional thing to witness, from here it was off to the fire site to enjoy not 1 but 2 firework displays.

Today for , we are shining a well-deserved spotlight on the incredible Adult Volunteers of Sussex ACF!

Without our dedicated volunteers, our doors simply wouldn't open. The reality is, none of what we do would be possible without them. From running local parade nights at all hours of the day to giving up entire weekends and spending week-long camps away, our team goes above and beyond.

They willingly sacrifice precious time away from their own friends, families, and busy lives to inspire, guide, and support the youth of today—building confidence, teaching life skills, and shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

Behind every cadet’s achievement, adventure, and unforgettable experience stands a dedicated volunteer.

Sussex ACF prides itself in being an important part of our youths development, but to do this we require facilities to provide these opportunities for our cadets.

Last night saw the grand opening of our new joint cadet training centre for No3 Hastings by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex, Mr Andrew Blackman.

Our cadets now have access to modern, purpose-built classrooms, welfare facilities and a welcoming environment to conduct their training!

A massive thank you to South East RFCA who funded the development for our cadets!

140+ subject passes for B Company!!

Last weekend saw B Company complete their September training weekend at Browndown Camp in Hampshire.

During final parade a number of cadets where presented a number of badges for completion of their subjects.

They included; 7 BTS Badges, 1 1Star Badges, and a Bronze DofE pass!

Congratulations to all of you who passed your subjects and overall star levels during the weekend.
