Congratulations Nick Tolley, our new Conservative Councillor on Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Town Council 👇

The Conservative Party has secured a victory in the Burnham South by-election. Conservative candidate Nick Tolley was elected with 270 votes, defeating Reform UK on 256 and the Liberal Democrats on 118.

Nick Tolley is already working with Burnham MP Ashley Fox to fight proposed parking charges on our High Street by the Lib Dems - he'll do even more for Burnham South if elected, including tackling anti-social behaviour in the town centre.

At the last Bridgwater Town Council meeting, we supported a motion against Somerset Council’s unfair parking charge increases. The proposals will hit residents, businesses, and our town centre.

The motion also gave permission for the Town Clerk to start discussions about Car Park ownership.

While we support discussions on car park devolution, we won’t back any deal that places an unfair financial burden on Bridgwater council tax payers. The last devolution deal resulted in higher council tax bills – we won’t let that happen again without proper public consultation.

At the Bridgwater Town Council meeting on Thursday 13th March, the Conservative opposition group voted in favour of a motion opposing Somerset Council’s increases to parking charges, including the introduction of Sunday charges and the removal of free parking for disabled users.

The Conservative Party has secured a resounding victory in the Fairfax East by-election, winning the seat from Labour with a thumping margin.

Congratulations to Paul Mills, who joins a strong Conservative team on Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Town Council 💙

The Conservative Party has secured a victory in the Burnham Central by-election, winning the seat from the Liberal Democrats. Conservative candidate Paul Mills was elected with 262 votes, defeating the Liberal Democrats on 201 votes.

This is your chance to design the festive card I'll be sending out across the constituency this Christmas. 🎅✨ The winning design will feature your name and school inside the card!

Who can enter? Children in Reception, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
