The Parish Council is fully aware that the traffic Lights are not working at the junction of Wembdon Rise/NDR. It has been reported and we are awaiting a repair.
Please be careful and drive safely.

The Parish Council is aware that the Spring on the springy horse within the under 7 year old playground has broken. The horse will be removed whilst a new spring is being ordered via GB Sports who supply and check the equipment.
The climbing frame will soon have new ropes fitted and the access for all blue rocking chair will soon be replaced following recent vandalism.

💙⚽ WEMBDON FC NEEDS YOU! ⚽💙

As our club continues to grow, we’re looking for new volunteers to join the Wembdon FC Committee and help support the future of grassroots football.

We currently have several vacant roles that we are hoping to fill with people who are passionate about helping the club continue to develop and support our players.

These roles help keep the club running behind the scenes, from supporting teams, managing pitches, helping with finances and supporting the development of youth football.

You don’t need to have previous committee experience, just a willingness to help and be part of the club.

If you, or someone you know, might be interested in helping out, please send us a message or speak to a member of the committee and we can talk you through the roles available.

We are planning to invest up to £5 million over the next three years to improve roads, pavements and cycleways across Somerset.

This extra funding will focus on the things residents tell us matter most, including:
✅ Clearing more drains and gullies
✅ Refreshing faded road markings and fixing signs
✅ Cutting back overgrown vegetation, especially on walking and cycling routes
✅ Making it easier to report problems on the road

Since the start of the year, we've received 16,332 reports about defects on the roads, compared to 4,417 for the same period last year.

To deal with this we've more than doubled the number of teams dealing with the damage, deploying extra equipment and using alternative materials to try to speed up the process. As of 20 February 4,577 potholes have been fixed by 35 teams dedicated to this work.

Yesterday at The Parklands continued pollarding work took place on several Willows. This concludes the planned work following last years annual tree inspection throughout The Parish. All work has been completed by professional tree surgeons

I’ll be at The Green (Friday 13th) from 10:30am for a couple of hours if anyone would like to stop by for an informal chat.



Whether you’ve got concerns, ideas for improvements, or simply want to say hello, you’re welcome. I’ve got a strong connection to the area, and while I normally work in Response, answering 999 calls, I’m spending some time at The Green to listen and do what I can to help pass concerns to the right people.



This isn’t a formal event, just a chance to talk, share what’s on your mind and help strengthen our community.
