Free Online Event!
On Book Club Day UK, there will be a special discussion exploring the history — and future — of book clubs and shared reading.
Book Club Day UK is on 11 September and to celebrate we have a fantastic, free online event that book clubs or individuals who love reading can join to take part in the celebration.
Ruby Gray will host a special conversation with author Yassmin Abdel-Magied and historian Dr Michael Durrant - they will share their thoughts about the importance and history of shared reading and book clubs and how this may have affected personal and social change over time.

Local Author Talk: Friday 18th September 2:00 - 3:30pm.
We're so pleased to be welcoming Dennis Coath, who is now fighting fit to deliver his author talk two weeks today! It's free but you'll need to book a place: Message us here on Facebook; email [email protected] or speak to staff in the library. This will be the first of our Author Talks back at Binford Place!
About Dennis Coath:
After an extraordinary career in sports journalism and beyond, Dennis has more recently written a trilogy of novels about a geriatric Rock Band that outsells the Beatles! We're looking forward to an entertaining afternoon which will include a quiz - with prizes!

With The Reading Agency Book Club Day UK fast approaching on 11th September, why not become a 'Reading Rebel' and join or form a Book Club? We would welcome another Book Group at Bridgwater Library! and can offer:
• Support and advice on setting up and running a group
• Group membership ( so much cheaper than buying the book choice every month!)
• Access to multiple copies of individual titles
• An 8-week loan period
• Ideas on what to read
• Free loans of audio books for groups with visually impaired members
• Free e-book and e-audiobook loans via BorrowBox, using the “Campaign” titles

Remember Rhyme-time with Stay & Play returns tomorrow!!
Join us for our FREE weekly Rhyme-time & Stay-and-Play sessions for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers! The drop-in sessions are on Thursdays from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Enjoy staff-led rhymes and songs and, if you like, stay to chat with other parents and carers while children enjoy playing with a selection of toys.
NB: Termtimes only and staffing-permitted.
Children remain the responsibility of their parent/carer throughout.
