Welcome to Love Bridgnorth which was launched in 2015 and aims to highlight all that we love about our home town. I’m a local mum and businesswoman with a Bridgnorth based company, Good2Great, which I have run with my husband for 14 years. Having worked on a Pride in Your High Street project with the local authority, I could see the impact of positivity about a place on social media, so set out

to always put our lovely town in a good light and to reach out and connect with our community.

Love Bridgnorth ‘celebrates and cherishes’ Bridgnorth and hopes to foster and invoke civic pride - whilst at the same time informing people of good news and local events. On the journey was the entry in 2016 into the great British High Street competition joining forces with Buy Big in Bridgnorth. Together we put Bridgnorth firmly on the map as a winning entry in the Large Market Town category – a unique place with good kind warm hearted people, stunning scenery and a wide range of fabulous shops, eating and watering holes

Having raised three children here I believe it has the perfect balance of town and country living; good schools, great sports clubs and is well respected in the arts even with its own Theatre tucked into the hillside. Steeped in history and a beautiful physical setting contribute to the reasons I love Bridgnorth - along with 18,000 others across a LoveBridgnorth Facebook Twitter and Instagram accounts. I didn’t grow up here – I’m a Home Counties girl and like many who have discovered Bridgnorth and chosen to make this amazing place their home, we feel our gratitude and sense of place deeply. I have lived here since 1992 and been involved in the local community; as editor of local magazine ‘What’s What!’, serving as a school governor of Bridgnorth Endowed, and as chair of the PTA of St Johns and first female chair of Northgate Swimming Club. I am a director of Bridgnorth Rugby Club and served as a local magistrate for over 22 years. There is now a small team of Love Bridgnorth admins whom I’m really indebted to : Tamsin Preece, Lesley Dagnall, Nerys Arch, Wendy Smallman, Dan Bradley, Lindsay Crussell, Petra Walsh, Rita Bains, Jen Ridley-Towns and Peter Rockett. We are in the process of registering as a community interest company with Tamsin Preece, Chris Aked and John Adams as trustees. I’m most grateful to be supported by local businesses Nock Deighton, the Travelwallet and Perry and Phillips who help with website hosting, printing etc. Thank you for supporting and reading.

Charlie's latest Film Review for 'Disclosure Day' has landed and it sounds fascinating...🎞❤️

Disclosure Day
Rated: 12A
Times: Check REEL Cinema Bridgnorth website)
Rating: 4.5/5

During a tumultuous time for Earth, two unlikely people are brought together by mysterious circumstances. Former cybersecurity specialist Daniel Kellner (Josh O’Connor), has been on the run from the Wardex government division, due to having possession of UFO files dating back to the Roswell incident, while a Kansas television meteorologist named Margaret Fairchild (Emily Blunt), suddenly gains strange powers that enables her to read people’s minds. Both of them must now seek out the true meaning of these circumstances, while avoiding Wardex CEO, Noah Scanlon (Colin Firth)…

Disclosure Day feels like the culmination of everything Steven Spielberg has done on the relationship between humans and aliens. The film brings together elements from E.T and Spielberg’s 2005 War of the Worlds film, along with the findings of UFO encounters in the real world, to bring these film’s themes regarding how this subject matter would impact humanity, to an open-ended, but deeply beautiful conclusion.

While some might find it shocking that these three actors have taken this long to work with Spielberg, Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor and Colin Firth all give career best performances in this, with the former two feeling like a natural evolution of the director’s previous protagonists, while the latter takes the government antagonist role previously seen in E.T., to unexpected emotional weight, while also being very intimidating at times, especially during his confrontation with another character played by an equally impressive Colman Domingo.

Overall, Disclosure Day brings together everything that Spielberg has contributed to his science fiction films, to tell this deeply moving story about hope and communication with the unknown and how it can literally change the world, if people just “listen”.

Masters of the Universe (2026)
Rated: 12A
Times: See REEL Cinema Bridgnorth
Rating: 4/5

Adam Glenn (Nicholas Galitzine), has spent fifteen years on Earth searching for the one thing that can bring him home. During his childhood, he lived in an alternate dimension as the Prince of Eternia, a fantasy kingdom populated by warriors, talking animals and creatures, and a powerful Sorceress (Morena Baccarin), who used the power of Castle Grayskull to send Adam and the lost item, the Sword of Power, to Earth to escape from the wrath of the evil warlord, Skeletor (Jared Leto). After Adam finally finds the sword, it summons his childhood friend, Teela (Camilla Mendes), to retrieve and take him back to Eternia. With the help of Teela, her warrior father, Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and a giant robot named Roberto (Kristen Wiig), Adam must master the sword’s greatest power, to transform himself into the most powerful human in the universe, He-Man, in order to save his people from Skeletor’s evil...

Committing fully to the fantasy and humour of the world of Eternia that made the original show so iconic, this film’s production design is a perfect example of bringing the Frank Fazetta-style iconography of the colourful locations of the forests, Snake Mountain and Castle Greyskull, to life like never before.

Jared Leto gives his best performance since American Psycho, capturing both the menace and the humor of Skeletor. Nicholas Galitzine makes a great impression as the lovable Adam/He-Man, and the likes of Camila Mendes, Alison Brie Morena Baccarin and Sir Idris Elba, all make for great new versions of Teela, Evil-Lyn, the Sorceress and Man-At-Arms.

Overall, the 2026 reboot of Masters of the Universe is the power boost for this franchise that long-time fans, or people looking for a fun filled fantasy adventure, will absolutely love.
