Carnegie House is a former Public Library building erected in 1907 with a grant of £2000 from Scottish-American businessman and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. The aim of Carnegie House Arts & Culture Hub is to provide a high standard of Art and Cultural events and activities in Bridgend Town Centre. This will include a programme of professional art and cultural events as well as community activit

ies that encourage local people to get involved in the arts in all its different aspects. Uses of the venue will include live performance, arts classes, workshops, musical events and exhibitions. Carnegie House is currently developing a programme of events, art & culture classes and has rooms are available for hire for arts events or business meetings.

Join us tomorrow (Friday) from 2-4pm for a relaxed and friendly free art session at Carnegie House. Open to all adults — no experience needed.

Today’s the day – get creative with us at Carnegie House! ✨

Bridgend Town Council is excited to launch our new creative community sessions starting today at Carnegie House.

Join us for free, hands-on craft activities led by a local arts tutor, with time to chat and relax in our warm ground floor hall. Complimentary refreshments will be available throughout the session.

Today’s session (Tuesday) is an after-school session for young people:
4:30pm – 6:30pm

You can expect:
✔ Guided craft activities
✔ A chance to learn new skills or just have a go
✔ A welcoming, warm space with drinks and biscuits

Sessions will continue:
Fridays (older people): 2pm – 4pm (starting this Friday, 16th January)
Tuesdays (after school): 4:30pm – 6:30pm

Sessions are free and there is no need to book.
Please note: children must be accompanied at the sessions.

Bookings open TOMORROW Monday 13th October at 9am for our FREE Half Term Activities, funded by Bridgend Town Council.

The amazing Zack Franks Movement and Dance is back for three dance workshops, Mad Science SW will be running two spooktacular Halloween workshops and our friends from Organised Kaos will be back for the ever popular Circus Skills Workshops.

The dates and times are:
Monday 27th October - Organised Kaos
10am - 11am 4-12 Years Circus Skills
11am - 12pm 4-12 Years Circus Skills

Tuesday 28th October - Zack Franks Movement & Dance
10am-11am 4-11 Years Street Dance
11am-12pm 4-11 Years Street Dance
12pm-1pm 4-11 Years Street Dance

Wednesday 29th October - Mad Science
10am-11am Spooky Halloween Science Workshop
11.30 am - 12.30pm Spooky Halloween Science Workshop

Every child must be accompanied by an adult (one adult may be responsible for more than one child).

You do not need to book a place for the adult, please just book a place for the child attending.

Carnegie House is delighted to be hosting the Old Stone Bridge 600th Anniversary Local History Exhibition and Art Competition Exhibition this September.

👉 There’s still time to enter!
The competition is open to all ages and abilities, with categories in drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, modelling, and creative writing.

🎨 Old Stone Bridge 600th Anniversary Competition 🎨

To mark the 600th anniversary of the iconic Old Stone Bridge, Bridgend Town Council has launched a competition to celebrate the town’s rich heritage.

Competition categories:
• Drawing and Painting
• Photography
• Sculpture and Modelling
• Creative Writing

Closing date for entries: 5th September 2025

Entries will be exhibited at Carnegie House Arts Centre, with prizes for winners in each age group and category.
