Had this From Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service today. Always good to have a compliment from the professionals about your work.

Hello Nigel,

Firstly, my apologies for the delay in response to your request to review your fire risk assessment template. Having had an opportunity to look at the layout of the document, it does seem to be an easy document to follow, there are clear sections that outline the different elements of the assessment, and these are laid out in an easy-to-follow way.

The particular observations / action plans after each sub-section does lend itself to easy identification of the issues to be dealt with and if I remember rightly did you say that you were putting together a section that lists just the significant findings from each section on one page? If that was done it would be easier to just look at the significant findings / action plan.

Other than that, I think the document is a good format, the generic information about legislation and scope of the document is kept to a minimum and most of the document is given over to the risk management of the premises (general fire precautions) which is good. I have seen many FRA’s that are more than half generic information and limited information about the general fire precautions and how they are managed. All in all a good format and useful information on the premises fir precautions.

Hope this information is of use, I have put the FRA that you gave me to review back in the post.

Kind regards

Martin
