💬 “I don’t feel on my own anymore.” 💙

This Carers Week, we want to share the incredible impact of Halo’s Carers Respite Programme through the eyes of Gill.

Caring for her husband with deteriorating health meant Gill rarely left the house and often felt isolated. The programme changed everything by breaking down those barriers:

🕊️ Free Replacement Care: Halo arranged free care at home for her husband, giving Gill total peace of mind to step away and take some much-needed time for herself.

🤝 Peer Connection: She found a welcoming space to share experiences through both laughter and tears, realising she wasn't alone.

💡 Lifeline Support: Through the programme, she was connected directly with the Alzheimer's Society for home visits, vital support she didn't know existed before.

Today, Gill is managing her stress using mindfulness techniques she learned, exercising five times a week using her free 3-month Halo membership, and feels deeply connected to her community.

Unpaid carers give so much. We are so proud to provide a space where they can pause, breathe, and get the support they deserve. 💛

Our Carers Respite Programme runs regularly throughout the year at Bridgend Life Centre. It is a completely FREE 6-week programme designed specifically to support your wellbeing and give you a well-deserved break.

What the programme offers:

🧘 Access to low-impact exercise tailored for all abilities.
📘 Expert advice from visiting organisations on carers’ rights, entitlements, and support systems.

A helping hand on the journey to the podium!

The financial burden of competing at the very top is real, but thanks to the Halo Sport Foundation Athlete Support Programme in partnership with Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC), local elite athletes across Bridgend County are getting the boost they deserve.

Through the Halo Sport Foundation Athlete Support Programme in partnership with Bridgend County Borough Council, we are proud to help relieve some of these financial burdens by providing both free training access to Halo centres and vital financial grants.

This initiative is only possible thanks to the incredible collaboration and shared vision of our Partners & Sponsors: KKSolutions , Castell Howell , Zoggs UK, Sport Wales, and SportsAid Cymru.
