New research published today reveals something politicians across the country should hear clearly:

Only 7% of the public support reducing spending on disability benefits. Almost half believe more should be spent ~ even if that means paying more in tax.

The message cuts across political divides: the public does not support balancing the books on the backs of disabled people.

Of course, the welfare system must be fair, sustainable and protected from abuse. People who can work should receive the right support and opportunities to do so.

But genuine disability is not a lifestyle choice, and independence is not free. Benefits such as PIP help cover the additional costs of living with a disability ~ they are not an incentive to avoid work.

As a disabled person myself, I understand the difference between enabling independence and creating dependency.

Reform must mean fixing a broken system, protecting those who genuinely need it and helping people fulfil their potential ~ not punishing disability.

PLAID’S ANSWER TO THE ENERGY CRISIS: PAY MORE, GET LESS

As we head into autumn and winter, many households will be looking ahead with dread at the added cost of keeping their homes lit and warm.

For far too many, it will once again come down to an impossible choice: heat or eat.

Families across Wales are already struggling with some of the highest energy bills in the UK. Plaid Cymru’s answer is yet another publicly owned company, bringing more bureaucracy, more government intervention and greater expense for taxpayers.

Wales has enormous energy potential, but that potential is being held back by outdated infrastructure, severe grid-connection delays and supply-chain shortages.

The priority should be clear: modernise our energy network, support reliable power generation and work with the UK Government to secure the investment Wales needs.

Welsh families need lower bills and a secure energy supply, not another costly layer of government.

Wales needs practical solutions.
Wales needs Reform.

On Friday 25th September 2026, I will be holding another in-person Constituency Advice Surgery, in yet another location, Wick.

You may be thinking...
"But he won't take my case on it's too big" or "too small",
"too controversial" or "too scary to talk about".

Let me reassure you, you can come to me with anything. I will listen. I will assist. Or I will guide you in the right direction for resolve.

I look forward to meeting you.

THE WELSH GOVERNMENT IS MISLEADING THE PEOPLE OF WALES

The Welsh Government claims its first 100 days demonstrate what it has “achieved”.

But look more closely and much of the report is about:

🔹 Funding being announced
🔹 Reviews and expert panels being established
🔹 Strategies and delivery plans being developed
🔹 Schemes being piloted or promised for future years

Announcing an initiative is not the same as delivering results.

Where is the clear evidence that NHS waiting lists have fallen, child poverty has been reduced, educational standards have risen or thousands of well-paid jobs have been created?

The Welsh Government may have started work on these priorities—but presenting activity and future promises as completed achievements risks misleading the Welsh people.

Wales deserves measurable results, honest reporting and proper accountability—not another self-congratulatory progress report.

Read the report and decide for yourself:

Sometimes people feel as though they have hit a brick wall and don’t know where to turn.

At today’s constituency surgery in Porthcawl, my team and I listened to and supported several local people with a range of concerns.

Our team holds regular advice surgeries at locations across the Pen-y-bont Bro Morgannwg constituency, including Porthcawl, Bridgend, Cowbridge and Barry to give constituents the opportunity to speak directly to myself and my team , While it may not always be possible to resolve every issue, we are here to listen, offer guidance and see what they can do to help.

To book an appointment at an upcoming surgery, please call or email using the contact details shown at the end of the video.
