At its core, employability is about removing an individual’s barriers to finding, maintaining or progressing in/to sustainable employment. Barriers include skills (general or occupationally specific), it could be job readiness/awareness, or it could be wider support with barriers (e.g. which are often connected to wider service provision needs (e.g. financial, homelessness or social services suppo
rt). There will be four strands to the project:
• Engage with GPs and other health providers to increase employability referrals from clients who have health barriers
• Work with clients who want to develop a new enterprise and support them to access mainstream business support
• To work on piloting a new Triage database to ensure clients get the correct support
• Delivery in partnership with the Youth Support Service to engage young people who are economically inactive. The UK Community Renewal Fund aims to support people and communities most in need across the UK, creating opportunities to trial new approaches and innovative ideas at the local level. Through this Fund, we will strengthen the relationship between UK government and places across the UK. The UK government will work directly with local partners, so that the people that know their places best are front and centre of the decisions that impact their areas and lives. This Fund will also provide capacity funding to help places prepare for the introduction of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. More information relating to the UK Community Renewal Fund can be found at:
