🎲 Share far and wide - Garw Valley Games Night returns this Friday! 🎴

📍 Blaengarw Workmen’s Hall
🗓️ Every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month
💷 £3 entry (no need to book in advance)
⏰ 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Join us and the Bridgend Boardgamers for an evening of classic and modern board gaming, collectable card games, war gaming, Dungeons & Dragons, and other tabletop role-play games. 🎲

Whether you’re completely new to the gaming hobby world, or are a 10th-level Paladin, all are welcome!

The Gaming Club provides a friendly, open space to play, socialise, vanquish your enemies, and meet new people. 🐉🃏♟️

🍺 The bar will be open, serving booze, soft drinks, and snacks.
☕ Free tea and coffee available all evening.
👥 Children and young people aged from 8-16 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

🎵 Midweek Melodies returns tomorrow 🎵

Join us for a set of free music at Blaengarw Workmen’s Hall with Ragsy, a hard-working singer-songwriter from Aberdare, who came to fame on The Voice UK in 2013 when he was mentored by fellow countryman Sir Tom Jones.

Playing acoustic rock with an alternative folk edge and soulful heart, he has supported multiple artists including The Proclaimers, James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers) and Tony Wright (Terrovision).

This is a free event and there’s no need to book, just turn up and enjoy!

Opening today: discover and celebrate local childhood stories, and share some of your own memories too!

The ‘Celebrating Childhood’ exhibition has been especially curated by the Awen Heritage team to share historic images as well as variety of toys. This is a fun and interactive local history exhibition, accessible for all and all ages.

You can visit the exhibition at Blaengarw Workmen's Hall between 11am and 4pm today and tomorrow.

This free exhibition is part of the Ogwr History Month, with thanks to funding from Welsh Government.

🎵 Midweek Melodies returns tomorrow! 🎵

Join us for a set of free music at Blaengarw Workmen’s Hall with Elijah Jeffries and Eddie Gripper. This is a free event, and there’s no need to book, just turn up and enjoy!

Established contenders on the Welsh jazz circuit Eddie is an enticing jazz pianist, promoter and producer, performing alongside the vocal stylings of jazz singer/songwriter Elijah. Together they celebrate the great jazz performers in the American Songbook, from Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole to Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and more.

The awesome GARW VALLEY GAMES CLUB takes place every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month at Blaengarw Workmen's Hall!

A full house of students from Blaengarw and Ffaldau Primary Schools for this afternoon's schools concert with the Welsh Chamber Orchestra!

🎵 TOMORROW: Fresh from their triumphal performance at the renowned Festival of Male Voice Choirs at the Royal Albert Hall, the Welsh Chamber Orchestra is delighted to return to Blaengarw Workmen’s Hall as part of their 40th anniversary tour.

Presenting a special concert ‘Mozart & Morfydd’, WCO will spotlight Welsh Composer Morfydd Owen alongside Mozart’s 40th Symphony.

Conducted by the WCO’s founder and artistic director Anthony Hose, this concert will also feature Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto with soloist Meyrick Alexander.
