Brede Garden Awards
Nominations for the Brede Parish Council Garden awards for 2026 are now invited.
If you see a beautiful front garden please do send your nomination to the Clerk. ([email protected]). Please include the house name or number and the road.
Categories are Large Garden, Small Garden or Containers and Baskets.
Gardens should be visible from the road or footpath, without the need to enter the garden.
Nominations must be received by noon on Wednesday 24th June, Judging will be the during the first two weeks of July, and the awards afternoon is on Saturday 18th June in Brede Village Hall at 2pm. Everyone is welcome.

Brede Community Awards
Nominations are now open for the Brede Community Awards. Please send any nominations with a short descirption as to why you are nominating them to the Clerk. [email protected]
Community Spirit Award: Awarded to someone who brings a community spirit to the Parish.
Young Person of The Year Award: In recognition of a young person doing or achieving something amazing.
Brede Shield: Awarded to a person(s)/group who enhance the community
Awards will be presented at the Awards afternoon on 18th July in Brede Village Hall at 2pm. All are welcome to attend.

There will be a Planning Meeting at 6.30pm, the Annual Meeting of the Council at 7pm and a Full Council meeting at 7.30pm, all at Trinity Methodist Church Hall. Agendas are available on the Council website

Deer Crossing

Deer have been seen regularly crossing the road in Northiam Road near Furnace Lane, and in Chitcombe Road just past Goatham Lane. Please be careful when driving in these areas, particularly at dusk.

Road Works A28, 27th April to 22nd May 2026

East Sussex Highways will be doing carriageway investigations and repairs on the A28 from 27th April to the 22nd May between Stubb Lane and Doleham Lane between 8pm and 6am. Access will be restricted to residents, with diversions in place via the B2089, A259 and B2093.
