A father–daughter team defined by courage, commitment and community.
Silver Kite Awards were presented by Cllr William Powell to Bryan and Katrina Davies, nominated by Cllr Tom Colbert, recognising over 60 years of combined service at Talgarth Fire Station.
Bryan has spent more than 40 years serving Talgarth and neighbouring communities – mentoring new firefighters, strengthening local recruitment and celebrating the service’s history through well‑attended talks.
Katrina has proudly continued the family tradition, completing 20 years of service and inspiring young women across Powys to consider firefighting. Even after a serious injury on duty, she is determined to return.
Their contribution to events, fundraising and the iconic Christmas Santa Tour makes them true pillars of their community.
