Lights, cameras, Brechin!

We were thrilled that Brechin Castle was chosen as a filming location for Wuthering Heights The House of the Damned horror adaptation.

With its dramatic architecture, historic interiors and atmospheric surroundings, the castle provided the perfect backdrop for this exciting production. It’s been a fantastic experience welcoming cast and crew to the estate and seeing the magic of film brought to life here in Angus. It was even more special being invited to London to see the pre-release of the film.

Step inside centuries of Scottish history as tours return to Brechin Castle this June!

From 24th June – 26th July 2026, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the ancestral home of the Dalhousie family and discover the beauty, heritage, and stories hidden within the castle walls.

Guided tours run Wednesday – Sunday at 11.30am & 1.00pm, with access to the beautiful walled gardens and tea room included in your visit.

Whether you’re a history lover, local explorer, or looking for a wonderful summer day out with family and friends, Brechin Castle offers a truly special experience.

What a magical baby shower celebrating mum-to-be Dionne at Brechin Castle today.
She made her grand entrance in true style arriving at the castle in a Bentley.

Surrounded by so much love, family and friends who came together to shower Dionne with laughter, joy, and all the love as she gets ready to welcome her little one. From fun games to plenty of giggles, it was a day filled with happiness from start to finish 💕

Here’s to new beginnings, precious moments, and the exciting journey ahead for Dionne and her growing family 💗✨

Special thanks to Trina’s Tasty Treats for the catering, it was delicious and was enjoyed by all!!

Here Brechin Castle we are feeling incredibly lucky and grateful to have been invited down to London for an exclusive pre-screening of Wuthering Heights: House of the Damned 🎬✨

Even more special knowing it was filmed at the stunning Brechin Castle such an amazing experience seeing it all come to life on screen!

It was so lovely to see the cast and crew again

A charming tea room where you can relax with a comforting cup of coffee and a slice of delicious cake after a peaceful stroll through the beautiful gardens. Warm, welcoming, and the perfect place to unwind.

We are open this weekend from 11 am til 4 pm. Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th April

We have seating areas inside and out

No dogs inside but dogs in the garden must be on leads at all times.

Brechin Castle stands proud on a massive bluff of rocks above the River Southesk on the site of a much older fortress belonging to the Scottish kings. The present house was last reconstructed in the early 1700′s and incorporates parts of the original Castle dating back to the 13th century.

The gardens at Brechin Castle are regarded as some of the finest private gardens in Scotland, featuring ancient trees and beautifully landscaped grounds that change with the seasons.
