Thinking about joining us after our post last night??

Wonder what our Monday training night involves??

Well for tonight’s we headed to practice Search & Rescue of a commercial building and incorporated the use of fire escape hoods for casualties and our emergency air supply equipment for a trapped firefighter scenario.

We are thankful to Angus Council for supporting us with the use of one of their buildings to practice in.

Come join us and this could be what you are getting up to on a Monday night.

🔥🚒 BRECHIN FIRE STATION NEEDS YOU TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY TO KEEP IT SAFE!! 🔥🚒

We are in real need of people to become on-call Firefighters who are able to respond during the day and night from home or work.

At present we have a crew of 15 firefighters, which may sound a good number however considering we need a minimum of 8 people 24/7 to crew both fire engines this places a huge pressure on the 15 to try keep us available to respond to emergencies.

This could be your home or your loved one that needs the support of us, imagine we were not able to because we didn’t have enough crew?

Don’t panic our crew do a great job keeping us available at present however we need fresh crew members in order to sustain this.

Please don’t pass it on as someone else will do it or I’ll think about it and never get round to it. We hear this a lot!! If you have an interest or would like more information on what it is like to be an on-call firefighter please message our page!

We are saddened to hear the news of the passing of our former Station Officer Bill Harper on Monday 20th April.

Bill joined the then Angus Fire Brigade in September 1965 prior to its amalgamation into Tayside Fire Brigade serving an impressive 23 years prior to his retrial in January 1988.

Bill was a regular attendant at our events following his retrial attending several of our open days and would speak fondly of his time within the fire service. His grandson Adam inspired by Bill’s many stories would also later go on to follow in his grandfathers footsteps and join our crew which was a very proud moment for Bill. Adam would often tell us how Bill enjoyed hearing stories of incidents from Adam and the two of them would spend time comparing and sharing stories of incidents they had attended.

Our thoughts are with Bill’s family at this sad time.

Bill’s funeral service will take place at 14:30 at Brechin Cathedral on Wednesday (29th April) thereafter to Parkgrove Crematorium, Friockheim to which all family, friends and former colleagues are invited.

A bit of a different type of training night last night for us, all in aid of a good cause which will be revealed in the next few weeks… but for just now we will leave this here for you to ponder what we have got ourselves involved in 😂

🚶‍♂️🔥 SCAA 10k Sponsored Walk…Completed It ✅ 🔥🚶‍♀️

What a day! We’re proud to have taken part in and completed Jenna Glen and Eddie Bailie’s 10k sponsored walk supporting the incredible Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA). 🚁💛

It was great to see such a strong community turnout for a cause that means so much to us. Regularly working alongside SCAA, we know just how vital their life-saving service is across Scotland.

With the just giving page sitting at well over £8000 raised so far, with much more to be added from the after walk entertainment, a massive welll done to Jenna, Eddie, Margaret, Charlie, Karen and everyone else involved either in organising the day, took part in the walk or donated all making today a massive success for an amazing cause! 🙌

Only 1 day to go 😬

🚶‍♂️🔥 Sponsored Walk for SCAA 🔥🚶‍♀️

We will be joining Jenna Glen and Eddie Bailie’s 10k sponsored walk to help raise funds for the incredible Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA). 🚁💛 tomorrow Saturday (18th April)

It’s not to late to join in or if you’re able to support us, any donation—big or small—would be hugely appreciated and will go directly towards helping the SCAA continue their amazing work.

Amazingly over £5000 has already been raised for the charity with more sure to be raised tomorrow at the fun day afterwards. If you can’t make the walk pop along to Brechin Bowling Club (next to Maisondieu School).

Christmas was put on hold earlier for a short period for us, thankfully however not for too long and we managed to grab a Christmas Day photo with the crew when we returned to the Fire Station.

This is the normal but unseen side for the crew, dropping what you are doing to respond and Christmas Day being no exception however it speaks volumes of the crew we have when no one complains and everyone is in high spirits.

Fingers crossed this is the only time we have to leave the house today however. From us all Merry Christmas everyone. 🎅🎄🚒

From all the crew at Brechin Fire Station we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Brechin Fire Station like most Fire Stations throughout Scotland is crewed entirely by on call firefighters who stop what their doing at a moments notice to respond to their 📟 from their home, work or spending time with family when required to attend incidents, Christmas Day and the festive period being no exception.

Hopefully we won’t be required to leave our Christmas meals or respond when everyone in the house is opening their presents, but if needed to we will.

Merry Christmas everyone, we hope 🎅 is good to you all.
