🗣️ Every child in care deserves a caring, safe place to live, trusted adults around them, and the care they need to thrive. Yet hundreds of children across England are being placed in illegal / unregistered settings, operating outside the safeguards designed to protect them.

✨ That is why Together Trust charity has worked with Anglia Ruskin University, with input from Commonweal Housing charity, to develop a joint-briefing calling on Government to take action to end the use of illegal children’s homes.

The briefing has been shared with decision-makers.

Students at Bridge College have been attending a new club this term: Pottery Club!

Our talented students have created some amazing pottery pieces using air dry clay and paints, showcasing their creativity, skills, and hard work.

We are incredibly proud of their achievements and love seeing their beautiful artwork that they have been able to take home to show their families over the half-term break.

Salford Hub, our specialist day service in Salford, recently marked Black History Month with a celebration led by Senior Community Support Worker, Sameya, at our Cheadle office!

Colleagues from across the Together Trust were invited to attend the Black History Month event and help start a month of recognising and celebrating Black history, culture and contributions. It was great to see so many colleagues taking part, learning and getting involved in the activities.

The people we support at Salford Hub played an important role in the celebrations. They designed and created artwork and crafts that are now displayed across Together Trust’s central office for colleagues and visitors to enjoy.

For those who could not attend the event in Cheadle, Salford Hub also hosted a celebration at the service. Colleagues brought in traditional dishes from their cultures, creating a delicious buffet for everyone to enjoy.

The people we support were involved throughout the day. They helped plan, prepare and make food, while developing cooking, communication and teamwork skills. We are also grateful to the colleagues who volunteered their time to support the event.

Sameya says “We’re proud to have helped promote inclusion, understanding and cultural awareness. It also gave people opportunities to learn new skills, share experiences and build stronger connections across our communities. It was a positive and meaningful way to celebrate diversity together.”
