Are you looking for an impactful role in housing?

Horton Housing are hiring a Property Compliance Officer to join our Property Services team in Bradford. The successful candidate would support us in ensuring we meet our statutory, regulatory, and internal obligations and requirements relating to property compliance.

We are looking for:
🟣 Understanding of the ‘Big 6’ compliance areas and legislation
🟣 Experience in property compliance, or other safety critical environments
🟣 Excellent communication and time management skills
🟣 A relevant Health & Safety or Compliance qualification(s) (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or willingness to work towards an appropriate formal qualification

Candidates need a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle that can be insured for business use.

As part of Volunteers' Week, we celebrated with a day out with our volunteers to a pottery experience in Saltaire.

The day was well attended and provided a wonderful opportunity to recognise and thank our volunteers for the time, commitment and support they give throughout the year 💜

Our volunteers enjoyed being creative, learning new skills, and spending time together, and the pottery was followed by a delicious afternoon tea.

Do you want to gain professional experience, meet new people, and make a real difference in your local community?

We want you to join our team of volunteers 💜

We have plenty of volunteer roles available in Bradford, Calderdale, and Kirklees, from befriending the people we support to teaching weekly cooking classes!

We have been awarded the Investing in Volunteers award, which means we make sure our volunteers have a positive experience with us. We give our volunteers full training, mentoring and support for their role, flexibility, valuable work experience, and the potential for professional opportunities and advancing to paid positions. All our volunteers will have their travel costs covered, and will join our friendly volunteer community, including volunteer rewards activities and events.

“I felt very grateful. I felt like I needed to give back... So after two or three days, I went back to see the lady and I said, “Can I volunteer with you?”. That’s how it started. And it changed everything for me.”

Buddhika has been volunteering at Horton Housing’s Owt for Nowt shop- a charity shop for the people accessing our service since 2023, having joined as a volunteer three days after she arrived in the UK from Sri Lanka. She has an incredible, inspiring story to share.

A huge thank you to PCSO Micklethwaite and PCSO Grant for generously giving up some of their community time to volunteer and jet wash the courtyard at Water Street. Everyone at Kirklees Intensive Housing Management pitched in and made the task a lot easier.

Thanks to everyone pitching in, the communal space is now cleaner, brighter and more welcoming for everyone to enjoy over the summer.
