🕵️‍♀️💻 Digital Detectives are on the case!

Year 3 investigated a collection of objects to decide what makes something digital. 🔍 Working as a team, pupils examined the evidence, challenged their ideas and discovered that having buttons, batteries or lights doesn’t automatically make something digital!
A brilliant start to our new Digital Systems unit! 🖥️✨

💻 Year 1 have explored the question: “What is technology?” Through lively discussions and sorting activities, the children identified examples of technology and discovered how it helps us in our everyday lives.

Year 5 Cinema Experience

In year 5 we are studying the gorgeous book Gorilla by Anthony Browne in our English lessons. Today, the characters visited the cinema, so we went along with them! We had popcorn and fizzy orange and really felt like we were there watching a film. It helped us to immerse ourselves in our learning so well! 🍿

Year 2 Maths

We’re started our year by exploring place value and how 2-digit numbers can be made. Using base 10, we made the randomly generated numbers on our place value charts.
We loved using the special light bulbs, it matched Miss Craig’s lights in class. 💡

This half term in DT, year 5 are exploring what makes an effective toy car, linking to our learning all about Jowett cars which were manufactured in Bradford. We looked at some examples today and explored what made them functional, appealing and fit for purpose. 🚗 🚕 🚑

Year 5 Science

We’re kicking off our science learning this year with the topic Animals Including Humans. Our first lesson had us explore the question ‘How do animals change as they grow?’ so we looked at life cycles of various animals. We got hands on and noticed some animals change completely whilst some just grow but look similar to their babies. This process of complete change is called metamorphosis - ask us which animals go through it! 🦋 🐸 🐞
