Coming up next month!

As part of York Environment Festival 2026, join us for a panel discuss on a future beyond military bases.

Points for conversation will include repurposing land used by the military for public parkland (as was seen with Greenham Common). This event will include a speaker from Greenham Common (Sue Say - as seen in the documentary film 'Gentle, Angry Women') and Pinelopi Gardika who brings expertise in the future of bases outside the UK (from the Transition Security Project).

Free entry. Register via Action Network.
5:30pm-7pm at Homestead Park Pavilion

Shut down US bases: Kick out Trump's spy station - 24 October 2026

Join CND, Yorkshire Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, and Menwith Hill Accountability Campaign (MHAC) for a day of action at the US spy base NSA/RAF Menwith Hill!

Located near the Yorkshire town of Harrogate, Menwith Hill is the largest US overseas spy base in the world and a key British base used by the US to drive conflict around the the world.

Over the years and thanks to the dogged efforts of whistleblowers, journalists and campaigners, the base’s involvement in providing targets for commercial espionage, conflicts and assassinations has been partially revealed. It also forms part of the dangerously destabilising US National Missile Defense system.

The day of action will include a public meeting in Harrogate about this secrative base's role in Trump's global wars, followed by a protest outside the base.

Registration is essential as we will need to book transport from Harrogate to the base and back - all the details can be found in the link in the comments.

Britain’s sole emergency communications link for sending nuclear retaliation orders to Trident missile submarines has been destroyed over Topcliffe, north of York, in clear view of travellers on the nearby A1 motorway.

The Ministry of Defence has refused to clarify whether the catastrophic mid-air failure of the Trident relay system was a weather accident or sabotage

Learn more here:

Exclusive: US-controlled weapons corporations and forces have control or access to more than 100 facilities across the continent, which some analysts describe as a ‘colonisation’ of Australia’s military. Find a map of them here

We're very excited to be featured in the latest issue of Left Cultures!

Bradford-based artist collective Mek Summat discuss their long-standing fascination with pin badges, and how it grew into our 2025 collaborative exhibition, ‘Pins for Peace’.

The exhibition explored the enduring relationship between peace movements and these one-inch works of art, showcasing 31 contemporary artists' giant-scale pin badge designs, each inspired by our collection.
