Join us for the UK Recovery Walk next Saturday for a day of celebrating recovery. As well as a 1mile walk around the city centre, there will be music, entertainment, food , a dry bar and information stalls.

Thanks to our partners Create Strength Group- Bradford and Faces & Voices of Recovery UK for putting together this fantastic event.

Come along with our resurfacing team for a day on the job👷🏻‍♀️🛣️

From setting up traffic management to laying fresh tarmac and carrying out the finishing touches, there's a lot that goes into keeping Bradford district's roads in good condition.

A huge thank you to residents for their patience whilst we carry out this essential work and shout out to the crews working on our roads, often in all weathers, to help keep people moving safely.

It’s been an unbelievable year at Ilkley Lido, but it’s not over yet.

As we are now moving into September, our time tables for both the indoor and Lido will change as of Tuesday 1st September 2026.

Lido
Monday - Friday
07.30 - 08.30 - 14.00 18.00
Saturday - Sunday
10.00 - 14.00

We will be reverting back to off peak pricing at all times. Bookings can be made for the afternoons and weekends but as always will no be available for morning sessions.

As and when the Lido water temperature does below 10 degrees, the lido will close for the year so there is no set date for closure. Wetsuits are highly recommended below 15 degrees. Below 12 degrees its only recommended to swim for a maximum of 20 minutes.

Some of our outdoor classes will also continue into September.
Circuit training Wednesday 07.15 - 08.15
Tia Chi for Health - Monday 17.00 - 18.00 and Friday 07.30 - 08.30
Booking is essential for outdoor classes as these are weather dependant.

♻️ Food waste recycling starts here!

It’s a huge job so Cllr Walker came to see what happens behind the scenes.

The first food waste caddies, liners and outdoor bins have now been delivered, with almost 25,000 households ready to begin recycling their food waste. Weekly collections start next week.

More bins will be delivered across the district over the coming months. There's no need to contact us – we'll deliver everything you need straight to your door.

Ever wondered how gully cleaning is done? 💧

Join our crew as they travel across the district clearing gullies and helping keep water flowing away from our roads.

With rain forecast in the coming weeks, this work plays an important role in reducing the risk of standing water and localised flooding.

If you spot a blocked gully near you, please report it to us so the team can investigate.

Free child car seat checking on Thursday 27 August at Shipley Asda car park

Come along and see if your child's car seat is fitted properly, between 11am and 4pm.

This is the first of fifty free check events which are being arranged across West Yorkshire, with ten taking place in the Bradford district. The events have been organised and funded by West Yorkshire Vision Zero, the region’s road safety partners, and will be run by Good Egg Safety CIC.
