“Part of it was luck, part of it was wisdom. But somehow Amsterdammers managed to realize for themselves and articulate what a livable city is all about. Every city has its own unique conditions and challenges. So it’s not about making all cities like Amsterdam. It’s about making them better versions of themselves.” - Cornelia Dinca in ‘Building the Cycling City’

Online consultation tonight at 6pm if you're interested - sign up through the link. This was always on the cards, bardford beck campaigners were very supportive of the greenway, and current cycle route designed around it but it looks like they will need to close the greenway and reconstruct, possibly on a new route, it's not clear to me from the initial information. Worth responding to consultation anyway and keeping an eye on developments.

Love working outdoors? Want to inspire the next generation? Need work that fits around you? Then become a Bikeability instructor!
To support Government’s ambition to offer cycling training to every child by 2025, more than 1000 new instructors are needed across the country.
Bikeability instructors are playing a crucial role in changing how we travel and inspiring the next generation to make more sustainable transport choices. As well as contributing to the fight against climate change, Bikeability instructors also enjoy flexible working, time outdoors and the opportunity to teach children an essential life skill.
Being a Bikeability instructor is perfectly suited for those who need work to fit around their studies or family life. All that is required prior to qualification is a positive attitude, passion for working with children – and ability to ride a bike!
Cycle North are recruiting and have courses running in Sheffield and Leeds in the New Year. https://www.cyclenorth.co.uk/work-for-us?fbclid=IwAR3_w6HVxNFCzJFXDYOA6Bp5UaC9bGWi7G8qxvuQfpr--VU5XVzu_WJjqN8
