Planning a holiday or visiting family abroad?

If you’re planning to travel abroad during the school holidays, please make sure to check your child is up to date with their vaccinations, including the MMRV vaccine.

Measles is a dangerous infection that can be extremely painful and in severe cases can kill. People can often catch it if they haven’t been vaccinated and then they travel to countries where measles is more common, such as in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Contact your GP to book any catch up jabs before you travel.

It's month! Did you know, the Togetherness NHS online library includes a FREE pathway for Bradford District’s women couples who are expecting a baby?

The online learning includes all the practical information and advice you would expect from an antenatal class.

It also includes emotional and mental wellbeing support for you and your baby.

The course is specially created for women couples, and considers the role of the woman partner as well as the pregnant mother (to be).

(There is also a similar course aimed at female/male couples during pregnancy.)

The course is one of 17 online courses for wellbeing support, parenting and relationships, available to all families in the Bradford District for free with the code BDPARENTS.

More information is available if you search Togetherness Bradford District online - or head to the FYI website and click on 'Parenting Programmes Pathway'.

MMRV is now part of the NHS routine childhood vaccination programme, replacing the MMR vaccine.

Vaccination is the best way to reduce the risk of serious illness and protect children as they grow.

Your GP will be in touch when your child is due their appointment.

Do you want to build healthy habits at home? Being active and having routines can help emotional wellbeing as well!

To find out more, join the Parent and Carer Support Group with the Mental Health Support Team.

Date: Tuesday, 9 June 2026
Times: 10:30am – 12:00pm or 7:00pm – 8:30pm
How to join: Microsoft Teams

This half-term’s topic is “Be Active – Move your mind”

Join the Parent and Carer Support Group to explore how movement, routines, and everyday activities can support children’s emotional wellbeing, with practical strategies and space to reflect together.

We will discuss simple ways to build healthy habits at home, recognise when wellbeing may be affected, and explore where further support can be accessed if needed.

What is the Parent and Carer Support Group?
Our online Parent and Carer Support Groups offer a safe and welcoming space to explore ways of supporting your child’s emotional wellbeing, and your own.

Each half term, the group covers a new wellbeing topic inspired by the Five Ways to Wellbeing, and share practical tips and ideas. It’s also a chance to connect with other parents, share experiences, and support one another.
