Lovely to see these photos of Jasmine (aged 6) as Mary in her school’s nativity and in her football kit. Her mum says
“A year ago, she was so overwhelmed during her school Christmas show that she had to leave early because the sound of the music, singing and performing was too much for her.

This year she sang with confidence, learned and executed her lines beautifully and enjoyed every minute of the performances

She also plays football twice a week and regularly plays golf at a really good standard too.

Her cochlear implants have given her a newfound confidence, and her hearing really doesn’t stop her from doing anything.”

You're warmly invited to a relaxed and welcoming open morning at our Leeds Centre — a space for parents and carers of deaf children to connect, recharge, and enjoy some well-deserved self-care. This event is open to all families with deaf children, not just those on the AVUK programme.
