Inviting you in…. With the campanula and erigeron clambering all over the walls and steps, alongside the flowering roses and clematis, the garden has a wonderfully romantic feel to it at the moment. Don’t miss out (or even better grab some tickets to the jazz next Saturday and enjoy a summer’s evening exploring the garden with a glass in hand, live music and bring your dancing shoes too!)

STAY in Rowley Cottage - right next to Iford (opposite the car park) is this charming 3 bedroom ‘cottage’ (with all rooms en suite). William and I renovated it a few years ago for people to stay and immerse themselves in Iford. The perfect, tranquil escape with friends, family or just by yourself. Available year-round and with access to our main gardens from dawn until 4pm each day of your stay this is a truly magical way to experience Iford.

I can’t get enough of these roses! Although some rain would be nice. Apparently it’s around, but keeps missing us with our microclimate here!

ROSES - it’s magical when the roses are in bloom all over the garden here. Climbing over walls, ropes, columns and more. This year seems to be a particularly stunning show 😍

Wisteria’s final hurrah - out now around the pond and up in the garden and welcome to the roses and more! A last chance to post a wisteria photo from the front of the Manor this year (photo shown taken by the marvellous ) but the wisteria up in the garden, of which there are many, including the one around the pond, are still going strong. Don’t miss these last few glorious days, especially with so many roses and alliums out alongside it. Hope everyone had a magical weekend! 💜

Happy World Topiary Day! Rather than post topiary from our main garden, I wanted to share some topiary with you from our private walled garden (which you can visit on one of our walled garden tours).

Created by my mother in law Elizabeth Cartwright-Hignett, there is lots of playful topiary in the form of animals, family crests and a whole ‘green room’ complete with sofa and chair (where you can sit), table, pot of tea etc. Each piece has a story behind it to tell.

We also have her puzzle garden within which a beautiful poem she scribed is written amongst the cobbles between the box.

Thank you to for kindly inviting us to partake online in celebrating world topiary day - if you haven’t been there, their topiary is fantastic, historic and a must-see.

LILY OF THE VALLEY - Ten years ago today, this beautiful flower (with its gorgeous scent!) graced the tables on the Great Terrace for William and my wedding.

It’s one of our favourite flowers, although often overlooked in borders due to its size.

To mark the occasion, this year, rather than tulips, we have a display of lily of the valley in the cloister for you to enjoy.

Looking back at our wedding photos it’s so hard to believe ten years ago it was such a cold and late spring that the cherry blossom was out in full and the wisteria only just starting to flower but mainly in bud! (Photos 3 and 4 from our wedding day)

WISTERIA WOW! This year is flying past in horticultural terms - when looking out of the window I feel we should be in mid-May with the wisteria out in full and alliums already bursting. The garden is looking stunning at the moment. Huge thanks to our wonderful garden team 💜

If visiting, please do make sure to book as we have been at capacity for the past couple of weeks (weekdays included). Many only book the night before or on the morning of their visit so do jump onto our website and book your timed ticket then before travelling to us.

As a 2 acre garden there is a limit to how many we can admit at anytime so when we are full, we are full and sadly won’t be able to admit you. So please, please do remember to book! 🙏
