It’s easy to get caught up worrying about things we can’t control — what other people think, how they react, what has already happened or what might happen next.

Try bringing your focus back to what you can control: how you speak to yourself, the choices you make, the boundaries you set, asking for help and where you put your energy.

You can’t control everything, but you can choose your next step. 💚

Accessing your reward hormone: Dopamine 🧠✨

Dopamine is linked to motivation, reward and that “I did it!” feeling. Small everyday activities can help give your brain a natural dopamine boost — and support your mood too.

Try things like:

🏃 Moving your body or going to the gym
🎵 Listening to music you love
✅ Completing a small task
🌿 Getting outside
☀️ Spending time in daylight
🎨 Doing something creative
🧩 Learning or trying something new
💬 Connecting with someone you enjoy

You don’t have to feel motivated first — sometimes doing one small thing can help the motivation follow.

💜 Su***de Awareness Month

Sometimes, what someone is carrying isn’t obvious.

They might still go to school, go to work, laugh with friends or post online - while struggling far more than anyone realises.

This Su***de Awareness Month, we want young people to know:

💜 You don’t have to wait until things reach crisis point to talk.
💚 You don’t have to have the right words.
🧡 You don’t have to deal with everything on your own.

And for all of us - check in. Listen. Take someone seriously. A simple “How are you, really?” can open the door to a conversation.

If you’re struggling, please reach out to someone you trust. You deserve to be heard and supported.

You are not alone. 💜

A brilliant morning at the Houses of Parliament 🇬🇧✨

Collette and one of our Young Ambassadors, Kyrran, had the opportunity to enjoy a fascinating tour of Parliament.

They had such a knowledgeable tour guide who brought the history and workings of Parliament to life - so much to see and learn!

After the tour, they were also lucky enough to meet MP Peter Swallow.

A huge thank you to Peter for giving us this fantastic opportunity and such a memorable experience 💜

💜 100 miles. 100 counselling hours. One amazing challenge. 👣

This September, one of our wonderful counsellors, Sarah, is taking on a 100-mile walking challenge to celebrate reaching an incredible milestone — 100 client hours as part of her counselling training.

Sarah has chosen to turn this personal achievement into something that will also support Youthline and the young people we work with. 💜

Every donation, however small, will help us continue providing a safe, supportive space where young people can talk and be heard.

🚶‍♀️ 100 miles throughout September
💬 Celebrating 100 client hours
💜 Raising funds for Youthline

If you’d like to support Sarah and cheer her on along the way, you can donate here:

Even £1 makes a difference — and sharing Sarah’s challenge helps too!

Good luck, Sarah! We’ll be cheering you on every mile of the way. 👣💜

Starting a new school year can bring a LOT of “what ifs”… 💭
What if I get lost?
What if I’m late?
What if I don’t know anyone?
What if I get something wrong?

You don’t need to have it all figured out on day one. Most people are finding their feet too. 💛

And if the worries start to feel too much, you don’t have to deal with them on your own.

💜 Life has its ups and downs…

Some days you might feel like you’re on top of everything. Other days can feel like one big uphill climb – and sometimes it can change before you even know what happened.

There’s no “right” way for your journey to look. You don’t have to be okay all the time, and you don’t have to manage the difficult bits on your own.

Talking to someone can help you make sense of what you’re feeling and find your way through the ups, downs and unexpected loops. 🎢

💜 You’re only human. And that’s okay.

Youthline offers free counselling for young people aged 12–25.
