On Wednesday, Smokefreelife Berkshire and the Public Health team visited the Lexicon to speak with residents about their new stop smoking service. It was great to connect, share information, and help people take the first step towards a smoke free life.

Smokefreelife Berkshire will be hosting another launch event on Wednesday 10th June at Bracknell Leisure Centre. Come along to speak with the team to find out more about the free support available and how they can help you on your journey to becoming smoke free.

Bracknell Forest Council, the NHS and community organisations are developing a new Health and Wellbeing Strategy for the next 10 years. The strategy will help shape future support, services and priorities that affect people’s health and wellbeing across the borough.

The strategy focuses on three main priorities:
• start well – helping children and young people have the best start in life
• live well – supporting healthy, connected communities
• age well – helping people stay healthy and independent for longer

We want to hear from residents about whether these priorities reflect the realities of life in Bracknell Forest and what would make the biggest positive difference to people’s wellbeing. This survey will close on 22 June 2026.

The link to the survey is in the comments section.
Thank you for taking the time to share your views.

The days are getting hotter and so are our homes!
You may be wondering on how to keep cool in your home this summer as the days are getting hotter. It is recommended to keep windows shut as this could let hot air in, help shade your home by keeping your curtains closed and keeping your doors closed when using a fan.

Visit the British Red Cross website for more information, link in the comments.

The days are getting a lot hotter lately!
Here are some tips to stay safe in hot weather such as keeping out of the sun at the hottest time of day 11am to 3pm. If you’re planning to walk your dog, plan to walk them in the morning or evening at a cooler time. Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains of rooms that face the sun.
If you're going out it is very important to wear sunscreen and top up every two hours to avoid getting burnt and risk getting skin cancer.

Please visit the public health portal for more information on skin cancer. Link is in the comments.
