📖 Peter Hyson: Writing cosy murder mysteries and his Cotswold Capers

Free author talk – no booking required! Just come along and enjoy!

Join Peter for an entertaining talk about his Cotswold Capers series of light-hearted murder mysteries, set in the picturesque and surprisingly deadly village of Much Slaughter. The books feature amateur sleuth Catherine de Barnes, her Golden Retriever Dagenham and a wonderfully eccentric cast of characters. Agatha Christie meets Agatha Raisin, with a touch of Bertie Wooster!

Peter will talk about writing cosy murder mysteries, creating his fictional Cotswold village and developing its memorable characters. Discover the inspiration behind his popular Cotswold Capers series and what makes a great cosy crime story.

Ever wanted to create your own manga characters and stories? Now’s your chance! As part of our Festival of Reading, join us at Bracknell Library for a fun one-hour manga drawing workshop with an experienced artist and tutor.

Learn about character creation and storytelling, try out your own ideas and get expert guidance as you bring your characters to life.

Free one-hour workshop for ages 16 years and over.

All materials provided so you can take your artwork home and keep drawing!

We’re delighted to introduce the fantastic authors joining us for our author talks as part of our festival of reading celebrations on Saturday 14 November.
